As you know, on Tuesday, January 12th, a devastating earthquake rattled the island nation of Haiti killing and injuring thousands. Among the relief effort sit philanthropic organizations focused on disaster relief. You’ll notice that there are some that go above and beyond delivering simple monetary donations, providing a clear rally cry for supplies, funds, and an approach for long term restoration.
Many of these organizations are American based and are now out-pacing previous aid efforts to the city of New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina and also Indonesia after the tsunami. With all the buzz around Haiti Awareness Week, I’m particularly interested in unearthing what’s working and what’s not from the topic at hand, and hopefully discussing with you and readers of http://sendhelp2haiti.com/.
